A Word of Explanation - Something Very Ordinary….

I've created this as a way to think about consciousness and intention, and it's part of a wider examination of artificial intelligence that I'm undertaking for a paper I'm writing for consideration by the Royal Society of Arts. The paper develops the design for RSA Connect, which is a collective intelligence system for the RSA Fellowship. You can find a working animation of RSA Connect here - look for graphic 10.

The flow graphic below has the subheading ‘Architecture of Intelligence’ because, in many ways, it's the fusion of thinking drawn from psychoanalysis, particularly the work of Donald Winnicott on play and current-day inferential mathematically based thinking about cognition and consciousness, named active inference by Karl Friston and colleagues. Mark Solms, a psychoanalyst and neuroscientist, is interesting in this regard. The best thing is to play with the animation, which you can run at different speeds. Its status is work in progress or WIP, as James Joyce called it. Contact me to discuss.
